My name is Mark McCormack. Make sure you have the right Mark McCormack, there are a few of us out there. I’m ‘super’ but I’m not the deceased ‘super sports agent / author’ that wrote books such as ‘What They Don’t Teach You at Harvard Business School.’
With that out of the way …
Personally, I am 40ish, married, have a 5 year old daughter and a 9 year old yellow lab. I have lived in most major metropolitan areas but currently hiding out in [action-packed] Kentucky.
Professionally, I am a high tech marketing and sales executive and a corporate development guru. I have taken one company public, raised over $60 M for 3 companies and bought / sold 6 others.
I travel a lot. Sometimes I am in Toronto, sometimes in San Francisco, sometimes in London but mostly I am working on some type of new venture or commercializing someone else’s idea.
I attend lots conferences and events related to local search, mobile advertising, new media, and web 2.0 stuff. I am an extreme early adopter, a gadget freak and a [fast] German car junky. I won’t touch a computer unless it’s an Apple.
I network professionally on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and my blog. I post random thoughts pretty much all the time and everywhere.
Absent all of this, I am pretty boring and one-dimensional.
